Montgomery County Planning Board The five-member Montgomery County Planning Board, part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, works to maintain and improve quality of life in our community. Acting upon such issues as growth, transportation, environmental protection, agriculture, historical preservation and forest conservation, the Planning Board affects your everyday life. In fact, the Board is largely responsible for setting land use and protecting parkland resources throughout the 323,000-acre county.
Montgomery County Parks Under the direction of the Director of Parks, the Montgomery County Department of Parks, M-NCPPC, strives to make sure that residents receive the best park experience possible, whether it’s a picnic at Black Hill Regional Park, an ice-skating lesson at one of the county’s two rinks, or a visit to our Garden of Lights show at Brookside Gardens. The Department recognizes the importance of providing residents with safe and accessible places to gather, enjoy the outdoors, and participate in healthy, recreational activities.
Montgomery County Department of Recreation The mission of the Montgomery County Department of Recreation is to provide high quality, diverse, and accessible programs, services and facilities that enhance the quality of life for all ages, cultures, and abilities.
