Overnight Stays on Ag Reserve Farms

The Montgomery County Council this summer will consider a zoning change to allow landowners and farmers in the Ag Reserve to host overnight guests in what will essentially be privately-run campgrounds.

A public hearing on this issue before the Montgomery County Council is scheduled for July 16 at 1:30pm. Anyone can testify or provide pre-recorded or written testimony.

Solar Energy in the Ag Reserve

A solar energy company is proposing to build two projects on farms in the Ag Reserve. The projects don’t meet the specifications of Montgomery County’s zoning law on solar in the Ag Reserve. Read our update here.

The state Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold a hearing on a solar facility proposed in Dickerson—on Wednesday July 10, at 7 pm. The session will be live streamed. Anyone can testify. Calling all Cyclists!

Registration is now open for Montgomery Countryside Alliance’s annual “Ride for the Reserve.” The event will take place on Sept. 15. The ride starts at SCA’s Linden Farm in Dickerson.
